Walker’s Big Day Powers Windermere Prep Past Dr. Phillips, 16–2

FEBRUARY 26 - The softball team used a balanced offensive attack and strong pitching to earn a 16–2 road victory over Dr. Pihillips.

Cierra Walker delivered the headline performance, driving in five runs on two hits. The sophomore catcher launched a three-run home run to center field in the fifth inning and added an RBI single in the second to spark the Lakers' offense.

After Dr. Phillips opened the scoring with a run in the first, Windermere Prep flipped the game in the top of the second, plating five runs on four hits to take a 5–1 lead. The big swing came from Kylie Konstand, whose two-run double highlighted the inning. The Lakers added another run in the third on a Rayah Mousli RBI single down the right-field line.

Windermere Prep continued to apply pressure in the fifth, scoring five more runs. Walker's three-run homer capped the frame, and Samy Czachorowski followed with a two-run single. The Lakers put the game away in the sixth, scoring five runs on one hit, aided by patient at-bats and timely contact, including another two-run single from Czachorowski.

In the circle, Ella Goldberg got the start for the Lakers, allowing three hits and two runs (one earned) over three innings while striking out one. Vanessa Nawracaj was dominant in relief, tossing three scoreless innings with seven strikeouts and no walks.

Offensively, the Lakers finished with 14 hits. Czachorowski led the way, going 4-for-5 from the seven spot in the order. Mousli and Konstand each collected multiple hits.

Windermere Prep travels up the road on Tuesday to take on Windermere HS.
