Lakers Tab Tomlinson as New Softball Coach

Windermere Prep is proud to announce that Jenilee Tomlinson has been named the new head softball coach of the Lakers' program. Tomlinson, a 2004 graduate of the University of Florida, earned a degree in Business Administration and a master's degree in Sport Management. During her time as a member of the University of Florida softball team, Tomlinson started 194 games for the Gators.

"We are extremely excited to welcome Jenilee to the Windermere Prep family and to lead our softball program." said Director of Athletics, Patrick Hollern. "What stood out in every conversation was the tremendous passion that Coach Tomlinson had to be a leader and mentor for our softball players."

As a member of the UF softball program, Tomlinson was named Verizon Academic All-District (2003), NFCA Scholar-Athlete (2002-03), SEC Honor Roll (2002-03) and the Dean's List (2001-02.) During her freshman season, Tomlinson batted .316 to record the best average by a UF freshman in school history and had an 11-game hitting streak that year, which was the second-longest at UF. She led the Gators with 21 runs scored and was second on the team with nine doubles during her senior season. Following her playing career at UF, she joined the coaching staff at Santa Fe College where she helped lead the team to a State Championship and finished the season ranked 2nd in the nation. The last three years, Tomlinson has served as the head coach of the Naperville Renegades, a travel baseball program in Illinois. In her final season leading the Renegades, the team posted a 32-10 record and finished the season ranked 3rd in the Illinois State Travel Baseball rankings.
