Softball Opens Season with Win

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 18 - Gracie Wallace threw a gem on Thursday to lead the Softball team past Dr. Phillips 17-0 with the rarest of baseball moments: The Perfect Game. Wallace struck out Erin Brown to end the game.

Mia Williams collected four hits in four at bats to help lead the Lakers to victory. Williams singled in the first, singled in the second, hit a grand slam in the third, and singled in the third. The Lakers tallied 14 runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught was led by Wallace, Williams, Zoie Pistel, Ariana Alicea, and Meredith Workman, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Wallace earned the win. The righty went three innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out nine and walking zero.

The Lakers had 15 hits in the game. Williams, Madison Carr, Workman, and Alicea all managed multiple hits.
