Lakers Defeat Mount Dora Christian, Improve to 4-1

SEPTEMBER 3 - The Windermere Prep Girls' Volleyball Team continued its strong start to the season with a 3-1 victory over Mount Dora Christian, improving to 4-1 on the year.
The Lakers battled through two tightly contested opening sets, taking the first 25-23 before falling to Mount Dora Christian 28-26 in the second. The Lakers responded by closing out the match with wins in the third and fourth set.

Windermere Prep used a balanced offensive attack throughout the match, finishing with 44 kills and 42 assists. Stella Szilard led the Lakers with 11 kills, while Laina Peralta added nine and Sasha Keller finished with seven. Cecilia Villa and Brynlee Frost contributed five kills apiece.

Aarna Verma directed the Lakers' offense with 35 assists while also making an impact from the service line with a team-high four aces. Windermere Prep recorded 14 aces as a team, with Sophia Wadsworth, Peralta, Villa and Szilard each adding two.

Defensively, Wadsworth led the way with 15 digs, while Delaney Pucci recorded 13. Peralta added nine digs and Verma finished with eight as the Lakers totaled 65 digs in the four-set victory.
