New Head Coaches Added to Lakers Staff

MONDAY, DECEMBER 21 - Windermere Prep is proud to announce the hiring of two new head coaches to the Athletic Department. Brian Simmons has agreed to become the new head football coach and Paige Brock will take over the girls' lacrosse program and will also serve as the Administrative Assistant for the Athletic Department.

"We are excited to announce the hiring of two high-level coaches who share our school's view of educational athletics," said Patrick Hollern, the Director of Athletics. "Both Brian and Paige bring a clear vision for how they want to grow their programs and develop high-quality student athletes. I look forward to working with both coaches as we aim to build comprehensive excellence within our athletic department."

Brian Simmons takes over as the head football coach of the WPS program after serving as an assistant coach in the program for the previous six years. Simmons served as the Laker's defensive coordinator for the previous two seasons.

Simmons, a former first round draft pick of the Cincinnati Bengals, played 10 years in the National Football League for the Bengals and the New Orleans Saints. Prior to joining the Bengals, Simmons earned a bachelors degree in sociology from the University of North Carolina. During his time as a Tar Heel, Simmons was a four-year letter winner on the football team, a  Team Captain for the 1996-97 season and was named a consensus first-team All-American.

Simmons was a letterman in high school football, basketball, baseball, and track for the New Bern Bears in North Carolina.

Paige Brock joins the Lakers as the head girls' lacrosse coach and athletic administrative assistant. Prior to joining the Windermere Prep family, Brock served as an assistant girls' lacrosse coach at Trinity Prep. During her illustrious playing career at Rollins College, Brock scored 111 career goals and 145 career points for the Tars. In each of her four seasons at Rollins, Brock earned spots on both the Fall and Spring Athletic Director's Honor Roll. Additionally, Brock served as an assistant coach at the Rollins Summer Lacrosse Camp in each of her four seasons.

Brock was a four-year letter winner in lacrosse at Winter Springs High School and was named Honorable Mention All-American.  

In addition to her coaching duties, Brock will be responsible for managing the day-to-day administrative functions for the Athletic Department with a focus on coordinating schedules, ticketing and media relations.
