FEBRUARY 16 - Windermere Prep senior Brandon Bass Jr. has been named the Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) District 11 and District 11 Class 3A Player of the Year, recognizing an outstanding season and one of the most accomplished basketball careers in school history.
This season, Bass Jr. is averaging 27.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game, surpassing the 30-point mark in 11 games. Earlier this year, Bass Jr. became Windermere Prep's all-time leading scorer during a win over St. Michael (LA).
Over the course of their career, Bass Jr. has set multiple school records, including most points in a game and season, highest single-season scoring average, most field goals made (game, season, career), most three-pointers made (game, season), most free throws made (season, career), and most career rebounds.
"Brandon is one of the most complete players to ever wear a Windermere Prep uniform, said Head Coach Brian Hoff. "The consistency, preparation, and competitive mindset they bring every day set the standard for our program. This recognition is incredibly well deserved."
