NOVEMBER 14 - The Windermere Prep football team closed out its season in championship fashion, earning a 25–14 win over Bishop McLaughlin to claim the SSAA 1A State Championship. Behind a balanced offensive attack and a relentless defensive effort, the Lakers controlled the game from start to finish and delivered one of their most complete performances of the year.
Offensively, Windermere Prep generated 268 total yards, powered by 181 rushing yards. Senior running back Peyton Hollern turned in a championship-worthy effort with 115 rushing yards on 13 carries and two touchdowns, while also hauling in a 65-yard touchdown reception that broke the game open. Freshman quarterback Ty Tracey managed the offense with poise, completing 4 of 8 passes for 87 yards and a touchdown while adding 26 yards on the ground. Adrian Delgado contributed 39 rushing yards and a touchdown on five carries, giving the Lakers consistent production in the backfield. Additional receptions from freshman Jay Evans and senior Antonio Farah helped sustain key scoring drives.
Defensively, the Lakers delivered one of their most physical and disciplined performances of the season. Senior Trevor Doggett led the way with an impressive 11 solo tackles, a tackle for loss, and a high-energy presence that set the tone throughout the night. Sophomore Koren Williams recorded a career-high 15 total tackles, anchoring the middle of the defense and playing a major role in holding Bishop McLaughlin to just 14 points.
From start to finish, the Lakers played with confidence, toughness, and composure—executing in all three phases to secure the program's SSAA 1A Championship. It was a complete team effort and a fitting end to a season defined by growth, resilience, and a championship mindset.
