Basketball Teams Prepare for Regional Playoffs

FEBRUARY 12 - The boys' and girls' basketball teams begin their quest to Lakeland with the FHSAA Class 3A Regional Quarterfinals this week.

The girls (18-6) enter the Regional Tournament as the #3 seed and will host #6 Edgewood from Merrit Island (20-6) at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 14. The winner of the quarterfinals play the winner of #2 The King's Academy and #7 The First Academy on Monday, February 19 at the higher seed. The Lakers enter the Regional Tournament after winning the program's first district championship last week against The First Academy. The Red Wolves enter the Regional Tournament after losing to Holy Trinity in the district championship

The boys (20-7) enter the Regional Quarterfinals as the #1 seed and host #8 Foundation Academy (17-9) at 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 15. The winner of the quarterfinals play the winner of #4 Cardinal Newman and #5 Bell Creek Academy. The boys enter the Regional Tournament after winning the program's seventh district championship and fourth since 2000 on Saturday against The First Academy. The Lions enter the Regional Tournament after losing to The First Academy in the district semifinals.
