Varsity Football Opens the Season on Saturday

AUGUST 26 - The Windermere Prep football team will open the season on Saturday, August 28 vs. Orangewood Christian at Scott Pine Community Park. Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm.

GAME DAY QUICK HITS:

Head Coach Brian Simmons enters his 1st season as the Lakers Head Football Coach after serving as an assistant coach in the program for the previous six seasons.
The Lakers enter Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) season play this year as they transition from the SSAC.
The Lakers are 5-6 in season openers.
Windermere Prep holds a 4-0 overall record against Orangewood Christian. The Lakers and the Rams last played in 2018 with WPS winning, 41-17.
Senior QB Zane Fullmer enters the season 3rd all-time in career passing yards with 2,686, in pass attempts with 333 and in passing touchdowns with 36.
Fullmer is only the 3rd QB in school history to throw for over 1,000 yards twice in his career.
Junior RB Jackson Bennett enters the season 6th all-time in career rushing yards with 885 and 5th all-time in career rushing and receiving yards.
Bennett set a school-record last season by scoring 42 points in a win over Trinity Prep.
Junior WR Mason Williams returns this season after leading the team last year with 594 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns.
The Lakers football team will be using the slogan, "Smart, Tough, Together" this season.

TICKET INFORMATION:

We have made an adjustment to our ticketing system this year and will use the GoFan platform, which is used by the FHSAA for all playoff games.

The cost of admission for spectators is $5.00 per person. WPS students will be admitted free of charge.

PARKING:

The parking lot will open approximately an hour and a half prior to kickoff.
Parking spots are limited on a first-come, first-served basis.
The complex has 250 parking spots available.
We suggest parking on the WPS campus and car pooling over to Scott Pine Park to ensure that enough parking spots are available. Once the lot fills, we will not accept any other spectators into the venue.
