Patrick Hollern

Patrick Hollern has served as Director of Athletics at Windermere Preparatory School since June 2019, guiding the Lakers’ athletic program with a focus on “comprehensive excellence” in competition, academics, and character development.

Under his leadership, Windermere Prep has experienced a period of dynamic growth and innovation. In 2022, Hollern led a full rebrand of the school’s athletic marks and logos, honoring the Lakers’ tradition while positioning the program for the future. He also oversaw major facility upgrades, including a new turf stadium, a rubberized track, resurfaced tennis and sports courts, and a remodeled weight room. That same year, he was instrumental in the formation of The Citrus League, a consortium of Central Florida’s top private schools committed to Academic Prestige, Athletic Honor, and Comprehensive Excellence. To elevate student-athlete engagement, he also launched the Student-Athlete Advisory Council, strengthening communication between athletes and school leadership.

Before joining Windermere Prep, Hollern spent six years at Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach, FL, where he served as Director of Athletics, Sports Information Director, and Head Boys’ Basketball Coach. There, he built a state-recognized athletic program, created The Palm League, developed a Student-Athlete Council, and led significant facility enhancements. As head basketball coach, he compiled a 41-13 record with multiple regional playoff appearances.

Previously, Hollern held leadership and coaching positions at Bishop McCort High School (Johnstown, PA) and Bishop Carroll High School (Ebensburg, PA). Across nine seasons as a head basketball coach, he achieved a 166-69 record, seven state playoff appearances, four district championships, and earned two Coach of the Year awards.

Hollern holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Studies Education from St. Francis University (PA) and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. He and his wife, Ashley, live in Winter Garden with their four children—Reilly, Peyton, Carson, and Celia—where they are active members of the school and local community.
