Mike Sanderson joins Windermere Prep as the Head Coach of the Boys’ Lacrosse Program and a Lower School PE teacher, bringing with him nearly a decade of experience in independent school education and a deep commitment to student-athlete development.
Prior to Windermere Prep, Coach Sanderson served on the Physical Education and Sports Performance faculty at Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, where he taught both Lower and Upper School students. His instructional philosophy emphasizes strength, conditioning, and lifelong health, while promoting teamwork, resilience, and respect.
Coach Sanderson has played an influential role in the South Florida lacrosse community, coaching at Pine Crest, as well as with regional and national club programs such as Sweetlax and Leatherbacks Lacrosse from 2017 to 2024. He has also coached at the collegiate level, with experience at Michigan State, Purdue, and Clarkson University, supporting player development, recruiting, and academic success.
A graduate of the College at Brockport, Coach Sanderson holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education. Beyond the academic year, he also served for ten summers as the Sports Program Director at Camp Takajo in Maine, leading athletic instruction for youth and mentoring junior staff.
Coach Sanderson is known for his energy, positivity, and student-centered approach. He looks forward to building a strong, inclusive, and competitive lacrosse culture at Windermere Prep.
