Coach Nieves brings more than 12 years of cheerleading experience across recreational, high school, All-Star, and collegiate programs, including her time cheering at University of South Florida. Her diverse background in both sideline and competitive cheerleading, combined with her passion for mentoring young athletes, makes her a natural fit to lead the next chapter of the Lakers Cheer program.
Last year, Coach Nieves served as Windermere Prep's Middle School Cheer Coach, where she quickly made a positive impact on the growth, confidence, and development of her student-athletes. Her commitment to creating a supportive and energetic team culture has earned the respect of athletes, families, and colleagues alike.
Now entering her second year of coaching, Coach Nieves is dedicated to helping athletes develop not only their cheerleading skills, but also the discipline, teamwork, leadership, and resilience that extend beyond the sidelines and competition floor. In addition to coaching, she serves as a 4th grade teacher at Windermere Prep, where she embodies the school's mission of inspiring students to achieve their full potential.
Coach Nieves believes cheerleading is a powerful platform for personal growth and leadership. She is excited to build upon the program's foundation and inspire the next generation of Lakers cheerleaders just as her own coaches inspired her.
