Wes Pollock - Softball Head Coach
Wes Pollock graduated from A.Y. Jackson High School in Toronto, Canada in 1984. While in high school, he was a four-year starter and captain of the varsity baseball team. He helped lead his team to the District Championship. He went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in political science from York College in 1989. While growing up, Wes played a total of 10 years on a travel baseball team.
In 2016, Wes was named the WPS head softball coach. He led the team to become ranked 7th in the state back in 2014 and 2015 in the 3A regular season. During those years he also assisted the program to become a two time defending back-to-back champions of the Foundation Academy High School Championship Tournament. He is also currently head coach of the Windermere U18 team.
Prior to taking over the WPS softball team, Wes was a well-accomplished softball and baseball coach. He was the head coach of the Thornhill Reds Travel Baseball Team for 13-16 year old graduating teams, the head coach of the Aurora Jays Travel Baseball Team for 10-11 year olds as well as the 17-18 year olds graduating teams, and the head coach for the Windermere Wildfire Travel Team for 10 years.
Between 2010-2019, Wes has led his teams to over 40 softball tournament championships. His baseball 10U team won the state championship back in 2005 and his softball team won state championships in 2011 and 2012. He has proudly helped over 50 student-athlete softball players from 2015-2019 receive a softball scholarship through the Wildfire Travel Softball team and Players Choice Athletic and Academic Mentoring.
Wes has three children named Arielle, Sydney, and Noah who are all presently in graduate school. Arielle is graduating this year as a Doctor of Audiology from the University of Southern Miss. Noah is in his first year of Law School at Nova Southern University. He is a Windermere Prep Alumni and played for the Varsity Baseball Team from 2013-2015. Sydney is in a Master’s Program at the University of Nova Southeastern for Child and Family Therapy. She is also a Windermere Prep Alumni and played for the softball varsity team from 2013-2015.
