While a student at Syracuse, he distinguished himself as a spectacular lacrosse player. Coming out of high school in New York to attend Syracuse, a perennial lacrosse juggernaut, he was ranked the #5 player in the country. While attending Syracuse University, Joseph accumulated several prestigious individual awards, including NCAA All- Tournament Team Member, Big East Midfielder of the Year, and USILA First Team All American. He was also a finalist for the prestigious Tewaaraton Award, which is given to the most outstanding collegiate lacrosse player of the year. Most impressively however, he had the great honor of being elected as the Orangemen team captain for his Junior and Senior seasons on a team consistently ranked in the Top 10 in the country.

In 2013, Marasco was named the Head Boys' Lacrosse coach at WPS. In 2022, Marasco led the Lakers to the program's first ever district championship and FHSAA Regional playoff game.

JoJo currently serves as a middle school PE coach.
