Greg Stone is the head girls' soccer coach at Windermere Prep, where he has been the only girls' soccer head coach in the program's history. Greg brings a wealth of experience and a distinguished coaching career to his role, alongside serving as the Admissions Manager at Windermere Prep.
Greg graduated from Miami Killian High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Erskine College. During his collegiate soccer career at Erskine College, Greg was selected as team captain, earned spots on the all-district team, and played on a team ranked in the top 10 nationally, advancing to the National tournament. He has also earned prestigious coaching certifications including the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Diploma, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, and NSCAA Premier Diploma.
Coach Stone's coaching career spans over 16 years as a head collegiate soccer coach at three different universities, including coaching at the Division I level. He has held coaching positions at Anderson University in South Carolina, University of Southern Indiana, and Tennessee Tech University. Greg led his college teams to six national tournament appearances, including winning a national championship. His coaching achievements include receiving seven college Coach of the Year awards, such as NSCAA Southern Region Coach of the Year, Umbro Coach of the Year, and Sunshine State Coach of the Year. Greg's overall collegiate coaching record of 185-75-7 ranks him as one of the winningest women's soccer coaches of all time.
Under Greg's leadership at Windermere Prep, the Lakers' girls' soccer team has achieved significant success, including two SSAC Conference Championships and eight winning seasons. The 2014-15 season marked a school-record 17 wins under his tutelage.
Greg Stone is deeply committed to both athletic and academic excellence at Windermere Prep, where he not only leads the girls' soccer program but also contributes to the school's admissions efforts. Alongside his wife Amber, Greg is a proud parent to two daughters, Taylor and Abby, who also attend Windermere Prep.
