MARCH 6 - The Windermere Prep Athletic Department is excited to announce the formation of a 6th-8th grade 8-man tackle football team beginning in the Fall of 2025! Eight-man football shares the same rules, procedures, and structure as the traditional 11-man game, with a few minor differences. Eight-man football is played with eight players on offense and defense, three fewer than the 11-man game. This addition to our athletic program will provide a valuable opportunity for our middle school athletes to develop their skills in preparation for our 11-man high school football team.
We remain committed to our Middle School Boys Flag Football program, and we are pleased to offer flexibility for multi-sport participation:
- 6th & 7th graders can play both 8-man tackle football and flag football.
- 8th graders can play both 8-man tackle football and 11-man high school football.
This initiative aligns with our goal of progressive player development, ensuring our student-athletes have the foundation, experience, and confidence to compete at the high school level.
