JUNE 7 -Â Windermere Prep is pleased to announce the hiring
of Vinny Martins as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach and Chris Williams as the Head Athletic Trainer.
Vinny Martins holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Norwich University and is anticipating a Master of Business Leadership from William Penn University, is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a USA Weightlifting Level 1 coach. His extensive experience includes high-level positions and responsibilities that make him a perfect fit for this role.
Most recently, Martins served as the Director of Athletic Performance at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy in Melbourne, Florida. During his tenure, he successfully designed and implemented comprehensive training programs for both Varsity and Junior Varsity teams, developed athletic performance curricula for high school and middle school students, and focused on enhancing weight room and speed competence.
Prior to Holy Trinity, Martins was the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas. There, he managed the strength and conditioning programs for 17 varsity sport teams, performed detailed needs analyses, and ran a successful internship curriculum. His role at Southwestern College also included conducting various athletic performance tests and utilizing cutting-edge movement screening systems to optimize athlete performance.
Martins has also held significant positions as an Athletic Performance Graduate Assistant at William Penn University and as a Strength and Conditioning Assistant at Windermere Preparatory School, where he initially showcased his passion for athlete development. His earlier experience as a Strength and Conditioning Intern at Norwich University laid a solid foundation for his career, enabling him to develop and lead large and small group workouts, maintain facility standards, and create exercise plans for injured athletes.
Equipped with professional skills in various athletic performance technologies and tools, including Teambuildr, Push, Jump Mat, Plyomat, Tendo Unit, and Brower Timing Systems, Martins is well-prepared to elevate the training programs at Windermere Prep.

Chris Williams holds a Master of Science in Sports Performance from Louisiana Tech University and a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Central Florida, is a licensed and certified athletic trainer with extensive experience in various sports settings. His professional journey reflects a dedication to athlete care, injury prevention, and rehabilitation.
Most recently, Williams served as the Athletic Trainer for the Center for Basketball Development at Montverde Academy, where he led medical care for basketball, tennis, and aquatic programs. His role included implementing injury prevention protocols and coordinating medical care for multiple sports teams. Williams also provided comprehensive medical coverage for a wide range of sports, including volleyball, soccer, basketball, baseball, softball, cross country, and lacrosse.
Prior to Montverde Academy, Williams was the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Stetson University, where he was the primary medical provider for women's softball, women's indoor volleyball, and cross country teams. He also played a key role in coordinating continuing education opportunities for the sports medicine staff and served on the nutrition and catastrophic injury committee.
Williams' experience also includes an internship with the University of Alabama at Birmingham's football team, where he managed insurance claims, conducted rehabilitation programs, and maintained hydrotherapy equipment. As a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Louisiana Tech University, he designed and implemented rehabilitation programs for the volleyball team and reported to the NCAA injury surveillance program.
In addition to his impressive professional experience, Williams has participated in numerous athletic training events and conferences, including the 2023 ATAF Clinical Symposium, the 4th Annual NY Rothman Sports Medicine Symposium, and the 73rd NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo. He is an active member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association and holds several certifications, including Corrective Exercise Specialist and Certified Ace Massage Cupping Practitioner.
